Come Closer To Me-Wael Kefori

This song narrates the story of a man who lost his wife the day he became a father....and he learned how to raise and love his only son on his own.

Why Should I Read

Read to live another life
To experience never known fears
To grow older while you are still young
To be young again after all those years

Read to learn something new
To open and cross exciting doors
To widen the charm of your visual horizon
To explore mystical virgin shores

Read to live ancient glory
To be a hero in someone’s dream
To make your impossible dreams come true
To watch what you have never seen

Read to kill routine hours
To freeze battles of internal war
To sharpen and launch your knowledge’s power
To live forever and ever and more

A Story Behind A Story [part1]

One night on the year 2003, while I was working on computer and my husband was watching TV, our youngest son showed up holding a big story book.

I looked at him and was preparing myself to turn off the program imagining he’ll hop into my lap, so I’d read to him as usual. At that time, he was around four years old!

Unexpectedly, he went straight to daddy and asked him to read for him. I was extremely surprised and deeply touched. That moment triggered a load of emotions in me, and I realized that no matter how much a mother can be loving, caring and giving, a child still needs daddy in his life!

They may not see their father all day long, but they still want to see him at the end of the day, and very often they look forward to spending time with him.

When my children were little, I used to worry when my husband was late. Now my children are older, and they worry more than me when their dad is late. They start asking if they can call him at work because they need this and they need that. And it seems that sometimes there are things only daddy should bring or only daddy should do!...and that makes me very happy because it takes away some load off my shoulders.

Going back to that moment in time when I froze watching my little one asking daddy with his sweet little voice “can you read this book for me please?”

Of course daddy was elated and felt so proud. He set his cup of tea away from where they were sitting and started reading that huge book.

And I found myself opening a Microsoft word page and writing the following,

Guess who my best friend would be?
He always reads a story to me,
While drinking his steamy tea.

….to be continued!

Alma

Today, I joined photobucket. After loading the first photo, I noticed they had “create avatar”.

Create avatar button took me to “meez” where one could create animated characters. To my surprise, I found long dresses and hijabs of all colors. I couldn’t resist creating a femal character. I named it Alma which represents my name Amal but with a different letter's arrangement.

I’m still exploring my way in photobucket and meez. This is my first day in those sites, and I already feel that I found what may satisfy part of my creativity. I can’t wait to learn more and create something new.

In this picture, Alma is wearing light yellow hijab (Headscarf) and pink Hanbok (Traditional Korean dress)

Guess Who My Best Friend Is

This non-fictional illustrated book embraces the father-child relationship from a little boy’s point of view. Some of the contradictions between text and pictures were designed to introduce some fun and excitement to the reader.

It makes an enjoyable reading material on father's day, when a father visits his child’s classroom or simply when a father and son are reading together.
